  • At CUTICON 2008, the 34th annual conference of the Gujarat State Branch of the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL-GSB), held at Mehsana in December 2008, Dr Neela Bhuptani, Prof & Head presented “Experience of various PULSE therapies in Dermatology” & residents presented free and award papers and posters.
  • At Dermazone-West 2009, the 1st biennial west zonal conference of Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists, attended by Dermatologists from Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Goa, held at Ahmedabad in December 2009, residents presented award paper and free paper. First year residents presented  poster . A team of two residents participated in the west zone round of IADVL-GSK National Quiz Program for Post-Graduates (IGNQPP).

The Department also earned many awards and accolades:

  • At CUTICON – 2008,

Dr. Rushika Chauhan secured 3rd prize in the free paper session.
Dr. Rahul Chandera secured 3rd prize in the poster presentation.

  • At Dermazone-West 2009,

Dr. Rushika Chauhan achieved 2nd rank in Dr. Bharat H. Shah Award Paper session.
Dr. Riddhi Kotecha was one among the seven prize winners out of total 47 participants in the poster presentation.

  • National Quiz Programme:

The team from P.D.U. Medical College & Hospital, Rajkot secured the 1st rank and qualified further, for the West Zone round of the IADVL-GSK National Quiz Program for Post-Graduates (IGNQPP).

  • Others. (CME, Conference, Training, Events etc.)
  • Disaster management training and enhanced syndromic management training attended by Professor and Head.
  • State and west zone conference attended by faculty and residents in last 3 years
  • Leprosy workshop attended by 2 residents and AP  in dec 2009
  • Dermatopathology CME attended by faculty and residents in may 2010
  • Infection control training attended by all faculty and residents in july 2010
  • VAI Master class attended by 2 residents and AP in aug 2010

Assistant Professor did  Dermatosurgery fellowship  in july 2010 for 1 month

 

 

YEAR 2011
 
Dr. Neela V. Bhuptani, Prof. & Head chaired the free paper session  at State conference of IADVL-Gujarat state branch-CUTICON-2011,Daman.
 YEAR 2012
 
·         A team of two residents Dr.Riddhi Kotecha (3rd year resident ) and Dr. Chaitali Patel (2nd  year resident ) represented department of DVL, PDU Medical College, Rajkot and secured first rank in the zonal level of IADVL National Quiz Programme for Post graduates (IGNQPP) held at Mumbai, Maharashtra. They were nominated for the national level quiz – which was held during DERMACON – 2012, the 40th National conference of IADVL at Jaipur, in Feb. 2012. This is a matter of pride and honour for the department and the institute.
 
·         Dr. Pravina Kathad (3rd year resident) participated in the online quiz conducted at the national level under Torrent Young School Award (TYSA) programme and reached the zonal round (held at Mumbai) in 2012.
 
 YEAR 2013
 
·         Dr. Neela V. Bhuptani (Prof. & Head) was the Esteemed Scientific Committee Member  at the 41stNatiional Conference Of Indian Association Of Dematologists, Venereologists And Leprologists (IADVL), Ahmedabad.
 
·         Dr. Neela V.  Bhuptani (Prof. & Head) chaired the session on Granulomatous disorders at National conference of IADVL-DERMACON 2013, Ahmedabad.
 
·         Dr. Bharti K. Patel (Professor) chaired the session on Drug Hypersensitivity Syndrome at DERMACON 2013, Ahmedabad.
 
·         Dr. Pratik B. Sheth (Assistant Professor) has been selected in the All  India Merit List (Rank No. 8)  for  the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists  training fellowship (2013) in the branch of Paediatric dermatology under Dr. Subrata Malakar, Director of Rita Skin Foundation, Kolkata
 
·         Departmenttakes keen participation in the National Aids Control & Prevention Programme through lectures and training to medical officers & health care workers.
